All members or interested people are invited to attend.

Discussion will be about Island Lake, Thunder Meadows, Tunnel Creek and summer activities.

New Orca Bowl Crossing

When Mitch, Ian and I arrived to install the timbers, three helpers arrived seconds later!

Tunnel Creek Thanksgiving Workparty

There is a work party at tunnel creek hut on Sat Oct. 6th. The work includes: brush clearing, staining, painting, and finishing building the composting toilet.

Access is a 40 minute hike from the upper parking lot (truck access only).

Horseshoe Basin Ride

Good mountain bike ride by Fisher Mountain, just west of the Wardner-Fort Steele Road ending Horseshoe Lake. Can do a 23 kilometer shuttle on the Mause Creek Road and gain 800 vertical meters. Pork’s Revenge Race Route (28 km) or Recreational Fun Ride (16 km)

Furious 3 on Hyper Ventilation

Hyper Extension Upgrade

The crew have been spending a lot of time cutting bush and moving dirt on Hyper Extention. Between last summer and this rainy spring we have upgraded and bermed most of the trail to a faster flow. Should complete the process in the next several weeks.

Oh Dear Upgrade

Earlier this week the Mt Proctor trails, (Swine Flu, Mad Cow, and Far Side) were under scrutiny with respect to existing Grazing Rights and the impact from riding, in particular dogs and high traffic events.

Concessions were made to allow riding and these are:

Mega Hurtz Decking

The crew continued working on Old Goats and MegaHurtz throughout the weekend, 3 days of hard work in the rain. Replaced the old boardwalk on MegaHurtz that we constructed 15 years ago when we built the trail network between Mt Fernie Park and the Ski Resort.

Gorby Creek – Old Goats Bridge
